Ice Cream is yummy

Today morning Ritvik somehow grabbed Johnson baby powder pack and tried sprinkling it on our black couch. He became so happy upon seeing fine white powder being absorbed in couch linen that he decided to do it again. I was watching, but did not have heart to stop him. Seeing him becoming happy in doing mischievous thing was more rewarding than caring about cleaning efforts. 15 minutes later, couch looked like covered with zebra skin and Ritvik seemed to be coming out of flour factory. But as I said, he was thrilled because I allowed him to do that.
On the way to school, he asked me "When is Saturday, papu". I said tomorrow, and he was so happy, "Saturday no new school, we go to Whee Park. I take my bucket and shovel. And we eat ice cream. Ice cream is yummy, right papu." Yes sunny boy, said I.

Grow Baby Grow

Ritvik is in such a wonderful age. He can talk very well. He does full conversations - full of sweet expressions and semi-true facts. Sometime when he is being naughty I tell him - 'No sir, No sir, don't do that' and this really turns him off. He says... 'I don't like no no sir no sir' :-) See he already has his likes and dislikes. Ritvik tells us when he wants to watch Thomas train and when he wants Mickey mouse. He picks up his own favourite from Blockbuster kids aisle. He says 'Miska Muska Mickey Mouse' and plays mickey phone game with his Papu. In food he likes apple juice, pango (mango) juice and fur fries (finger fries). Even though we are rare McD goers, he recognized the big M and knows they sell fries. He also knows his library, borders (to pick up books) startbucks (to have coffee) and Baskin Robins, Clod Stone ( to have icecream).

When I reach home I have to become doggy and do 'woof woof' with him and then horsy and give him a ride and then pull down all the cushions of that big old sofa and make a house out of it. When he is pretending to be doggy, he won't respond if you call him Ritvik. You have to call him pluto doggy and he will only eat bone (doggy eats bone) :-). Dinning chair goes upside down and becomes a bus. We have to seek special permission from him to use it for meals.

His emotional toys are his blue blankie, yellow bird (his baby, also his first toy) and his teddy.

Ritvik has recently started going to a pre-school. He is learing good manners. He says 'excuse me' when he wants to interrupt and say something. He likes drawing and can actually draw quite well. Things like car, digger... and they quite resemble it... I mean they have wheels :-) not bad for a 2 year old. I think he has interest in music too. He can recognize instrumensts... like drum, guiter, piano in a track.

Challenge these days... he is not P trained yet  :-|

Happy Birthday

Ritvik
Today is your second birthday. You have completed two years today. These two years have been wonderful, full of joy and a new thing or two, almost everyday. I have watched the greatest wonder of the world, a growing kid. You came in this world like a blank slate, and now my son, you are a talkative and curious boy.

We are in Seattle today. Shashwat (your mama) works in Microsoft, and we are visiting him. We went to his office today. You quickly grabbed his chair and announced, " I am working", and you in fact typed so much. May GOD bless you and you do the finest things

It is 12:05 AM of 16th March. I am sitting here in Shashwat's room and you are sleeping like a small angel. When I told you It is your birthday, you said, "Yeah, happy birthday to you song, happy birthday cake. Give me happy birthday cake", and then for next couple of hours, you were asking only happy birthday cake.

We brought a cake, some ballons and candles to celebrate your birthday at 12 AM, but you slept. So we will do it tomorrow. And we will do a party in Pasadena.

Once again, Happy Birthday and many many returns of the day.
